Flash hiatus

The End of a Hiatus: Mine!

Sorry I’ve been away for so long, guys! My computer decided that we weren’t friends anymore and refused to turn on. And seeing as it was my only way to access the domain to write my blogs I have been kind of stuck for awhile. But, I am back from my hiatus and it seems like a good time to talk about all the shows that are getting ready to end their own hiatuses (hiati? Am I making up words now?)

Obviously, I am going to be most excited about the end of Arrow‘s hiatus. Just this past week Stephen Amell tweeted a picture of his face where he was kicked in the nose while filming. This has to bode well for the fight scenes coming up.

In this new season we will get to see Oliver Queen – mayor! According to the synopsis on comicbook.com “Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.”

I’ll be interested to see how this season pans out against the mayoral plot line from the comics. In that storyline Oliver regains his millions, defeats an escaped Deathstroke, and asks Dinah Lance to marry him. Maybe there is hope for the return of Laurel after all. Plus, we have the Flashpoint in Flash to look forward to.

Flash hiatus
The Flash

Speaking of Flashpoint – let’s look ahead to the end of the Flash hiatus as well. It’s already been confirmed that we’ll be seeing Kid Flash, Dr. Alchemy, and Savitar. Aaron Helbing has made a point to let us know that Savitar is going to be much different than Zoom and Reverse Flash, even though he can’t go into much detail (and I wouldn’t want him to know…some things are better as a surprise). Now that Barry has absorbed all the different time lines we could end up seeing changes in Arrow and Supergirl as well. There has also been mention of a small Gorilla City storyline somewhere in the Flash season.

Supergirl hiatus

Supergirl is something I won’t be able to comment on much yet, as I have not watched the first season yet. It’s set to debut on Netflix on September 10 which is well before it airs on the CW for season two so hopefully I can binge watch it in plenty of time to be up to date on what is going on there.

Another show I am excited to have hiatus end on is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I was hoping for the new director to be Agent May but it was announced earlier this summer that Jason O’Mara has been cast as the new boss. With Lincoln dead as well as Grant Ward, Daisy is on the run and has a brand new look.

Agents of SHIELD hiatus
Emo Daisy

I feel like Daisy started out with nothing to lose and has ended up losing the most. She was a foster kid who jumped from home to home before she met Coulson and joined the team. She fell in love with Ward and he was a traitor. She learned who her mom was and she died. She learned who her dad was and they had to wipe his memory. She fell in love with Lincoln and he died. Daisy just can’t catch a break so I hope season four is a little more upbeat for her. And I hope Fitzsimmons end up together for realsy.

Gotham hiatus

Gotham is also returning for season 3 and they have confirmed that sometime around mid-season the Joker will be returning. Executive producer Ken Woodruff has stated that they are hoping to guarantee a season 4 renewal with the Joker plot line they will be exploring around mid-season.

Last but not least – we have Supernatural returning for SEASON 12!! We’ll see how Crowley’s relationship with the Winchesters will change now that the demons no longer see him as a leader. We also will get to see the return of Mary and producer Bob Singer has said they will be returning back to the basics similar to seasons one and two. The British Men of Letter’s chapter was introduce in season 11 so we will see a little more of that in season 12 as well. Lucifer is still out there somewhere and Misha Collins has said that Castiel will return to his season 4 persona now that he is back to full blown angel. I am so excited for season 12!

Danneel’s pregnancy announcement

PS – Big news for the Ackles family. Jensen and Danneel are expecting TWINS!

And, I am so excited to be back. I have other seasons that I am ready for the hiatus to be over with (Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, and Outlander) but they aren’t until 2017 so we’ll discuss those when they get closer.

Gotham premieres on FOX on Monday, September 19 at 8pm.

Flash premieres on the CW on Tuesday, October 4 at 8pm.
